Writing by the Water

Write a Letter

Writing a letter to yourself,

from your mom.

take your time.

This may bring up a lot of emotions.

You are invited to hold nothing back.

This isn't a letter of what your mom would say,

it's the letter you want to read,

with all the words you wish she could say.

consider the level of anonymity  you want.

Do you want your letter to start Dear (your name)?

Or do you want to keep a level of privacy?

You could write the letter full on,

and go back later to edit for your privacy.

consider what you really need to hear.

Is this a letter you needed to receive when you were a teenager? younger? or as an adult?

Allow yourself to revisit the you that you were then - what did that you need to hear from your mother?

send us the letter.

Do it.

Send it.

We'll record the video and send you the link once it's on the Love, Mom youtube channel.

Then you watch it when you're ready.

Maybe while you're wrapped in a cozy blanket.

Writing a letter

to your child.

take your time.

Acknowledge that there are reasons you haven't been able to say these words out loud,

and be kind with yourself.

Write the words you have always wanted to say,

consider the level of anonymity  you

and your child might desire.

You can start the letter with "dear one", "dearest", or with their name if you believe it would not adversely affect them to have you speaking directly to them

via this letter and video.

**please consider this carefully.**

consider what you really need to say.

These may be words you've held inside for years.

They may be words you don't think you'll

ever be ready to say them them out loud.

Words you know they'll never hear from you.

send us the letter.

Take a deep breath, make sure you've said it all,

and send it to us.

We'll record the video and send you the link

once it's on the Love, Mom youtube channel.

Then you watch it when you're ready.

Maybe while you're wrapped in a cozy blanket.

Consider carefully if you want to send the link

for this letter to your child.

These may be words they've been waiting to hear.
